To ensure that your child receives the best support, it is important to understand the factors that are of concern to you. Sometimes parents do not notice the difficulties that children may be facing because they are used to the way the child is communicating. Depending on the difficulty, parents may be prompted by family members, friends or teachers at school. Some of the many comments may include:

  • “I can’t understand what he/she is saying”
  • “He/ she can’t pronounce (say) words properly”
  • “He/ she stutters”
  • “He/ she is not talking enough for their age”
  • “He/ she finds difficult to concentrate at home or at school”
  • “He/she is behind others in the class”

  • “He/ she gets frustrated with activities that their peers can complete”
  • “He/ she has difficulties combining words to form accurate phrases and sentences”

It is essential to conduct a full assessment and diagnose the underlying cause that impacting the child’s communication skills. This will then enable us to plan and rectify the issues in order to help the child live a quality life. These assessments are “scientifically proven and evidence based”.

Put simply, it is a test to diagnose the difficulties and work out a plan to remedy these difficulties.
